WE ALL LIKE A BIT OF FUN!

    United States
  • In the US, 70% of all antibiotics produced are used in the production of food!
  • The term coffee break was invented in the US in the 1950s to promote more consumption of it.

  • Japan
  • Sushi is a ‘once-in-a-while’ dish in Japan. And it doesn't always include raw fish - there are many varieties with pickles, veggies, and other ingredients such as ‘natto’, which is fermented soybeans.
  • The reproductive organs of the male fugu (blowfish) are considered to be a great delicacy.
  • Sumo Wrestlers eat only one meal per day - a BIG one!

  • Korea
  • The traditional method of making Kimchee in Korea calls for the use of salted fish guts as the primary fermenting agent.

  • Mexico
  • Mole Poblano, sometimes called the National Dish of Mexico, includes turkey and chocolate.

  • Thailand
  • Tom Yum Soup (Hot and Sour) is sometimes made with ants, which provide acidity.

  • Italy
  • Before tomatoes found their way to Italy, fermented sardines were commonly used in pasta sauces.

  • India
  • The word curry is a derivative of the Tamil word ‘Kari’, which means ‘sauce’. Curry actually refers to a combination of spices used in the creation of Indian cuisine.

  • From Elsewhere...
  • In some parts of Asia, eating a raw cobra gall bladder is considered to be healthy for men.
  • In beef-savvy South American countries like Agentina, pure white fat in beef is considered to be unhealthy & unacceptable. The fat should have a yellowish tinge, which would indicate that the animal was fed on grass only. Smart.
