COOKING FOR A ‘'CROWD OF ONE’...YOU.
Preparing good meals for yourself can be difficult, but not impossible. In fact, there is one big advantage to cooking for just you - you can make whatever you want, with no arguments!
THE PLANNED APPROACH: Dinner - What To Make? It's a bit like asking yourself the age-old question - "What's For Dinner?" You should probably start with sitting down and figuring out a rough menu for the week. If you're a working person, this is about the only way you'll be able to avoid the ‘I'll just pick up something quick on the way home’ syndrome.
Some of the things you'll want to consider are:
- Variety of the dinners - Boring is BAD
- Total nutritional content - Remember...
You Are What You Eat!
- Balance of the meals - Veggies, protein, etc.
- Size of the portions - Leftovers can be another meal
THE UNPLANNED APPROACH: There Are Times...Sometimes it is more fun to just ‘throw something together’ on the spur of the moment and there's nothing wrong with that! In fact, artistically-inclined folks gravitate toward this method as it allows their creative streak to flourish. Whatever works, eh?
Like anything else in life, the more you cook the better you'll get.
